The Lere Credibility Monitoring Group (LCMG) has reacted to claims by Alhaji Mas’ud Ahmed Yusuf that he resigned as Special Assistant to the Local Government Chairman due to corrupt practices in the Council, saying he is a chronic liar known for double standards.

On Friday, Alhaji Yusuf who claimed to be an ardent supporter of Governor Nasir Elrufai of Kaduna State, said he resigned as Special Assistant to the Council Chairman, Abubakar Buba Garu and cited some perceived irregularities as reason.

But the LCMG in a sharp reaction signed by its Coordinator, Malam Mubarak Shehu Ramin Kura, described the claim as unfounded lie and challenged him to show both the proof of his resignation and his loyalty to Governor Elrufai or even the All Progressives Congress( APC).

According to Ramin Kura, failure to show the resignation letter would further confirm the general concern in Lere that Yusuf has all along been a mole planted by a former Kaduna Senator who is a self-appointed enemy of Elrufai and his administration.

“We as an independent monitoring group are satisfied with the level of progress made by the Council Chairman and the Kaduna state government and therefore warn that no unnecessary distraction will be tolerated.

“Immediately Yusuf made that announcement, we launched an investigation only to discover that the man was merely making bare-faced lies unnecessarily and has not been punctual in his office as he has not been seen for nearly one month, ” Ramin Kura said.
