Jirgi, others inducted by NIM
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Abuja-based Triple Cee Media Limited, has been inducted for fellowship of the Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered) along with 100 others including the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello.
According to a letter approved by the President and Chairman of Council, Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered), and signed by the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Jirgi qualified for induction based on his contributions to the development of the Institute, management profession and the civil society at large.
A veteran journalist, and holder of Masters Degree in Development studies from the Bayero Unicersity Kano, Ibrahim Jirgi’s professional education pursuits began in 1993 when he did a news reporting course at the University of Maiduguri.
In 1996, Jirgi bagged a Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication from the Institute of Journalism and Continuing Education, Enugu and another Diploma in the same year from the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) Abuja.
Jirgi, currently MD/CEO of the Triple Cee Media Limited, an Advertising and Public Relations outfit, and Fellow Nigeria Capital Market Institute NCMI, had served as Special Assistant and later Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the Yobe state Governor between 2002 and 2007.
In 2012, he was made a member of the Board of Directors, Abuja Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and during the electioneering for the 2015 presidential election, he served as member, Field Operations Directorate, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abuja.
Earlier, he was variously Senior Reporter with the Borno Community Concord; Editor, Maiduguri Regional Office, Telex Publications Limited Zaria; Chief Correspondent in Borno and Yobe states for the Daily Times of Nigeria between 1989 and 1997. He was also a BBC Hausa Service Correspondent in Maiduguri and Abuja between 1990 and 2001 and thereafter, Jirgi moved to the National Interest newspaper as North East Correspondent between 2001 and 2003.
In a brief remark after the induction ceremony which took place in Lagos, Jirgi thanked governing council of the Institute which he said is the largest, trans-sectoral and multidisciplinary professional Institute in Nigeria.
The Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) was established in 1961 when a general meeting of top managers in Commerce, Industry and Government was convened to discuss the formation of a management Institute in Nigeria.
