*Corruption: Elrufai die-hard resigns in Kaduna*
An ardent supporter of Governor Nasir Elrufai of Kaduna State, Alhaji Mas’ud Ahmed Yusuf has resigned as Special Assistant on General Purpose in Lere Local Government Council under Hon Abubakar Buba Garu.
Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna on Friday on why he decided to resign “with immediate effect”, the former aide to the council Chairman revealed that he was moved by “massive corruption of the incumbent administration, leading to many failed projects”.
The aide gave instances with the alleged inflation of contract monies in an erosion control project saying the Nasarawa/ Saminaka project, “especially a primary school the Chairman was falsely claiming to have built but did not”.
The ex-aide expressed concern over another unverified claim of renovating a “Federal Government road”, adding that “the Chairman only succeeded in bringing down the quality of that Federal road”.
He went to say that his former boss has been using a “propaganda platform called 108, to divert public attention”. He explained that the council boss proceeded to assemble women of the area “in the name of launching his achievements, which in reality was a false flag strategy of misleading the public”.
Alhaji Mas’ud went on to say that “even major stakeholders in the politics of Kaduna State are not only upset and disappointed in the Chairman’s abysmal performance and false claims of achievements but also the way he has been treating them with disdain”.
“I challenge anybody in Kaduna State to tell me which Local Government Chairman mired in allegations of corruption appointed and sacked three Council Secretaries under one year”, he declared.
